Yes, there is. Perhaps due to differences in susceptibility among populations exposed to low concentrations and long-term cumulative effects, there may be no threshold and steeper slopes.

I think it's possible the steep slope at low concentrations, and lack of an effect threshold despite significant decreases in PM2.5 concentrations over time, may reflect population characteristics at the lowest end of the curve. In my opinion it can explain, as long as specific groups within the population are considered. In this case, considering only the elderly, the increase in concentration will cause an increase in the number of deaths within this age group, this number will stabilize because sensitive individuals will no longer be alive. Everything will depend on the time window and an assessment of the population most sensitive to the effects.
