DIGITAL BIO-SURVEILLANCE
Google Flue trends did not work out so well when it was introduced. However, there has been a lot of progress whereby scanning digital media, especially social media, may provide us with information about an infectious outbreak before more traditional surveillance approaches, such as hospital visits. I read about a system named ARGUS out of Georgetown U. but would like to know what other systems are being used. TY

How many samples do you need to analyze for effective blood plasma products quality control?
A blood bank is set up with a laboratory for the preparation of blood components. Product quality control (e.g. plasma sterility) should be performed. How many samples do you need to analyze for effective control? How do you calculate this number? Does it vary depending on the total number of components produced?
